| This feels like it's pretty much the first time I've had something good to say on here. I just got a Federal Supplemental Grant. It's the end of the year and they just gave me this, totally awesome.
$1,000 Grant. Free Money!
Yay for me!

| So I'm getting hopeful about graduating next year. Part of graduating as an art major is doing the large, significant Baccalaureate project. To do this you need approval which requires putting in a proposal at the end of the semester before you start. For the BFA degree the project is a full year. I came up with an idea about a week ago and I was really excited. So I did a piece in Photoshop and did a drawing of it and brought them both to my drawing critique today.

The first thing my professor said was that I had failed to accomplish what I was trying to do. He then went on to tell me all the downfalls of my proposal and actually said that unless I made some major improvements before turning it in (it's due in 3 weeks) he was sure the staff would decline it. He left the room to get a book and show me some examples of work to look at and my friend Leo turned to me and said, 'Ouch.' That pretty much summed it up, it was really a harsh thrashing and I totally didn't expect it from that professor, I want him to be one of the members of my committee. Every time I get excited about doing something with my art at least one professor shoots me down. And then they wonder why I've never stuck with any of my ideas. I hope I can put this back together before it's due.
Anyway, enough whining. I know there aren't very many people reading this, but anyone who does and is going to be near NDSU for the next week or so; my friend Leo's Baccalaureate exhibition is up in the Reineke Gallery on campus. Check it out.

| I had to work today. That's right, I had to work today. Work sucked today. Nothing went right. No one cared but my boss. Everyone else just took care of their own shit and left...dumped all sorts of shit on us and they're probably gonna be pissed on Wednesday when they see all the shit that didn't happen. By the time I got out of there I really didn't care anymore.
We're housing my roommate's fiance's father and their foreign exchange student over the holidays. I guess that's ok but seriously...they can't get a hotel room? Anyway, I was just getting hungry a few minutes ago and was kind of excited because I had a few slices of leftover Papa John's pizza in the fridge. "HAD" was the correct word. Somebody ate my fucking pizza! And one of the three slices that was in the box was already half eaten. I can barely fucking believe it.
It reminds me of a few weeks ago. Sarah was here and she was getting hungry...she had a pizza here so she was going to go start the oven and make it. Hannah, my rommate's fiance was already cooking it. They ate her damn pizza! And they never asked or replaced it either! Doesn't that seem a bit rude?!
I don't want to come off as a selfish prick but I'm starting to wonder if I need to put my name on my food like it's a work fridge or something.
...I'm hungry.............

Star Nursery Nebual
Stars are formed in cool dense molecular nebulae. While they are forming accretion disks cause jets of gas to leave from the poles, this is called a Herbig-Haro object. After a star forms it starts to push the surrounding nebula away from itself. The heat from the newborn star can turn patches of the molecular nebula into a pink emission nebula by ionizing the hydrogen gas inside it.
